Project Database Files:

The Project Database file contains information about projects or jobs and is a central source of information for all users. Each project file represents a single company with it's own project list. Multiple project files can be used to represent multiple companies. Each employee can link to the different project files and apply 'time' and 'expense' data to any of the jobs listed in these files.
Project Database files can only be created using the 'TimeSheet' software package. Refer to the 'TimeSheet Configuration' section of this help system for details.
On starting the 'Management Module' package you will be asked to select the Project database file you would like to access. Users can only open one Project database file with this software at one time.

On first opening a Project database file users should enter the 'Configure Employee Details' area to link employee database sources and completing a 'refresh' to upload the required data.
This employee link information is maintained in the project database file and can be edited and added too in the future as staffing situations change. If these staffing details have not changed the user has only to click the 'refresh' button each time the package is opened to ensure latest data is available for reporting on. Even this process can be automated by going to the 'Configuration' section of the software.

Configuring The Project Database:

Select 'Set Project File Names' from the configuration section of the 'Project Database File' menu will open the form shown below. Editing these values will change how the associated businesses and staff member positions are displayed in the 'TimeSheet' package.
If the user is looking to edit these values from the 'Timesheet' software package select the 'Configure Project Database' item in the 'User Company' menu. If this item is not available (not 'enabled') security settings have been set the 'Management Module'. See the section on 'Database Security' in the help system.
