HBrace 4.0 - Brace Type Database

'HBrace 4.0' includes a Microsoft Access file called "Data.mdb" containing all the brace type information used in the software package.
This file will be updated by 'Visual Windows Software' from time to time when manufacturers bring out new bracing elements or change details.
To ensuring our HBrace users have the most up-to-date details of all the latest brace types they should check the file they are using matches the version number below.

Note: This brace type varies from the foundation block walls brace type 'ST1' already loaded into the database.
To use this 'BL1' brace type, ensure you have version 4.0.9 of the 'Exe' file or newer (Go to the HBrace FAQ section to download).

Critical: Check that you have the latest version of the "HBrace.EXE" file (version 4.0.12 or newer) to handle the additional brace groups now in the database.

CHECKING YOUR VERSION NUMBER:

To check the database version you are currently using, start 'HBrace 4.0', click on "About HBrace..." in the "Window" menu. Check the 'Brace Database version' number matches the above number.


INSTALLATION:

Ensure "HBrace 4.0" is closed.
On clicking the 'Download' button above you will be asked if you would like to 'Open the file' or 'Save to disk'. Users should click the 'Save to disk' option, then the 'OK' button.
Following this step you will be asked to specify the location where you would like the file saved too. Select the 'HBrace' installation directory. The name of this directory is dependant on what you designated when first installed 'HBrace' but is usually located on the following path: "C:\Program Files\HBrace 4.0".
Once you select the correct path, click 'Save' and you will be asked if you would like to replace the existing file, say 'Yes'. This will start the download process that may take 3-5 minutes (0.6 MB) depending on your modem and connection speeds.
Once the download is complete start 'HBrace' and check the database version number matches the latest version number above.
