HBrace 4.0 - FAQ

- Queries and Frequently Asked Questions:

Problem:
The 'HBrace 4.0' installation routine did not fully run when installed on Windows NT4 operating system. Software states that it can not register a file.
Answer:
An icon has not been loaded into the Windows 'Start Menu' but there is enough of the software loaded to allow you to use the program.
The software can be started by opening "Windows Explorer" and double-clicking on the 'HBrace4.exe' file located in the "C:\Program Files\HBrace 4.0" sub-directory.
Users can create a Windows 'Short-cut' icon by right-clicking this file with their mouse and pressing the 'Create Short-cut' menu option. This will create a short-cut that can be drag and dropped onto your desk top.
On starting the software, the user may find that the help system does not work (press 'F1' to try it). Microsoft know of this problem and have provided a patch file that users should run. Download the following file (approx. 0.5 MB), then run it to upgrade the help system files on your computer.

Problem:
I run an Apple Mac computer and would like to use 'HBrace 4.0'.
Answer:
Due to the small market we are not proposing to produce a Mac version of HBrace 4.0 but users should aware of a product called 'Virtual-PC'.
We have not tried it at Visual Windows Software but understand it should allow Mac users to run a program like 'HBrace 4.0' in a window.
Question:
How do I know that I am running the latest version of HBrace 4.0?
Answer:
Download the following file (approx. 2.5 MB), then run it to install the latest brace type data file, help system and 'HBrace4.Exe' file. This will ensure you have the latest features and brace types available.
This software package is in a self-extracting zipped format and only contains the relevant revised files. They will not run by themselves but require the user to already have 'HBrace 4.0' installed on their computer.
